Melton City Badminton Club: Social Badminton Event - Terms & Conditions
Welcome badminton enthusiasts!
Here's what you need to know about our fun social badminton events:
Registration & Attendance
- Register in Advance for a Smooth Experience! Spots are limited. To ensure we have enough courts and shuttlecocks for everyone, kindly register online and pay before the event. This helps us plan ahead and provide the best experience for all participants.
- Thursday Social Term Pass Holders: Pre-booked for Thursday events (registration not required).
- Respectful Cancellations: If you can't make it after registering, please let us know via message or email to free up your spot for others. Late cancellations attracts charge.
- Attendance Tracking: We track session attendance to ensure fairness and court access.
Playing Fair & Having Fun
- Mixed Skill Levels Welcome: Whether you're a seasoned pro or a curious beginner, we encourage everyone to participate!
- Mindful Competitiveness: We promote a balance of friendly competition and inclusivity.
- When possible, try to find partners with a similar skill level to keep the games exciting for everyone.
- Rotational System: We use a rotational system to ensure everyone gets playing time.
- Join any court, warm up, play a game of doubles to 21 points, and then rotate off to allow others to play.
- Fairness & Queue Etiquette: Respect the waiting order. Queue-jumping will result in a warning and potential removal if repeated.
Social is Key!
- Friendly Atmosphere: On and off the court, we value a friendly and welcoming environment. Be open to playing with different people and make new badminton buddies!
What to Bring & What We Provide
- Bring Your Racquet: We provide courts and shuttlecocks, but bring your own trusty badminton racquet.
- Changing Facilities: Change rooms are available at the venue for your convenience.
Helping Hands Make a Difference (Volunteer Club!)
- Setting Up & Packing Down: As a not-for-profit volunteer-run club, we appreciate your help with setting up nets before play, taking them down after, and sorting used and unused shuttlecocks (bucket and tube provided).
Safety & Responsible Play
- Play Responsibly & Reuse! For everyone to enjoy badminton at an affordable price, we kindly ask participants to use shuttlecocks responsibly. Avoid unnecessary damage and consider reusing used shuttlecocks for warm-ups.
- Supervision of Children: Parents/Guardians are responsible for the supervision of their children (under 12) during the event.
- Safety First: Everyone's safety is our priority. Please be aware of your surroundings, avoid hitting others with your racquet, and alert a committee member of any potential safety hazards.
- Clear the Court: When leaving the court after your game, please ensure used shuttlecocks are collected and the court is clear for incoming players.
